Dizziness, Vertigo, and Meniere’s
My
name is Marlee. I came to Abundance Acupuncture in July of 2009 because I
was suffering from Meniere’s Disease with severe dizziness, vertigo, and
nausea. I had this problem for one year and at its worst it was very
debilitating. I could barely function or do everyday tasks. I was
confined to a horizontal position, trying not to move because the nausea
was terrible. I also felt hopeless because the doctors told me that it
was completely incurable. I tried medications such as Meclizine to resolve
this problem which took away the most extreme symptoms, but the vertigo
came back every two months and lasted for weeks.
I began to feel some improvements in
my condition after my first treatment at Abundance Acupuncture. My ears
started popping and opened up a few hours after the treatment. My vision
also sharpened up. At this point in time my condition feels 95%
better. I now feel very hopeful and after three months I have not suffered
from vertigo. Now my good days outnumber my bad days. I have also had
significant improvement in other symptoms: my mind is clearer and not
foggy headed. I have more vitality and my blood pressure has normalized.
During the treatments I could feel the internal energy flowing through my
body. It was very restful and I often fell asleep.
The clinic is very professional and
the staff is very supportive. I would recommend acupuncture to everyone
because there isn’t a person out there that couldn’t benefit.
I can now continue to train in Taw
Kwon Do working towards my black belt, and work as a home stager. I have
my life back. It’s a great feeling! I thank God everyday!

Relief from Dizziness and Headaches
My
name is Barbara D. I came to Abundance Acupuncture in February of 2011
because I was suffering from dizziness, vertigo, headaches, and tingling
in my hand. I had these problems for 16 months. They made me feel so
uneasy that, at its worst, I would feel sick to my stomach, be filled with
anxiety, and feel like I was about to pass out. It was difficult for me
to sleep and I was irritable, hopelessness, and exhausted. I was unable
to keep up my usual social activities and I stayed at home because I was
afraid that the dizziness would flare up unexpectedly. I had to put my
life completely on hold for more than a year.
I visited many doctors and specialists
and tried medications such as Diazepam, Meclizine, and others. The
Diazepam would put me to sleep but, I woke up the next morning feeling
just the same as before. I tried reflexology which helped a bit but, it
was too painful for me to continue. I even had neck surgery which made no
difference and I now wonder if it was even necessary. Then my daughter in
law told me of a friend who came to Abundance Acupuncture and of the
success that she had.
I took my daughter in law’s advice and
began to feel some improvements in my condition after four treatments at
Abundance Acupuncture. At this point in time my condition feels 80%
better. I now feel more at ease with myself because I have less dizziness
and fewer headaches. I have recovered my social life with family and
friends which I deeply missed and I am able to comfortably drive my car
again for the first time in the last nine months. I have also had
significant improvement in the nausea that I was feeling and the tingling
in my hand has lessened.
The staff at Abundance Acupuncture is
wonderful. I look forward to the feeling of relaxation that I experience
during the treatments. I would recommend acupuncture to anyone who has
tried everything else because acupuncture is painless and has done wonders
in returning me back to a normal life.
Thank you all,
Barbara

Finally Better After Months of Vertigo
My
name is Yvonne. I came to Abundance Acupuncture in March of 2015. I
describe my decision to pursue acupuncture as a "leap of faith" because I
didn't know what else to do. I was desperate for help to regain a normal
life.
For the
past 18 months I had been affected with severe vertigo and dizziness
leaving me nauseated most of the time. I became disabled, having
difficulty walking, riding in the car, grocery shopping, reading,
gardening, and maintaining my house. I couldn't drive the car or ride a
bicycle. Depression had set in and I was miserable. I rarely left the
house.
I went
through Internists', Neurologists, Ear Nose and Throat specialists,
vestibular physical therapy and chiropractic treatment. I had a MRI, MRA,
and a CAT scan to rule out stroke. I tried medications such as Meclizine
and Diazepam. I was told there was nothing they could do and it would get
better. It seemed to be getting worse.
Acupuncture has given me my life back. I regret waiting so long. I can
now drive myself for treatment, go grocery shopping, take walks, play with
my grandchildren and do most of the ordinary things that I used to do. I
am still receiving treatment to completely eliminate any vertigo or
dizziness. I am confident that it will happen.
The
clinic environment is soothing and the staff is positive and professional.
I look forward to each treatment and I feel my condition is improving
every week.
I highly
recommend acupuncture to others.

Fatigue, Vertigo, and Insomnia
My
name is Carol M. I am a 50 year old grandmother and special education teacher.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at
Abundance Acupuncture for giving me my life back. Last winter, my daughter
successfully fought breast cancer, I went through menopause, and the more
negative aspects of my job achieved critical mass. This Trifecta of stress
compounded symptoms that had been building up for years, leaving me depleted
with constant fatigue, dizzy from water built up in my inner ear, and unable to
stand for more than 10 minutes without getting a burning pain down the side of
my right thigh. Insomnia, a host of digestive disturbances and chronic water
retention also plagued me.
The usual remedies of self treatment with
herbs, meditation, nutrition, trigger point self massage and yoga offered little
or no relief. Ditto for over-the-counter and prescription meds recommended
by my primary care physician and the ER doctor who treated me when the school
nurse and my daughter, who is also a nurse, bullied me into going in because my
vertigo and high blood pressure, along with tingling extremities made it look
like I was having a stroke. Turned out to be hyperventilation and water in the
middle ear.
Now, I hate spending money on myself. (My
husband and I brag about having bought my wedding band second hand for $50 at a
gun show.) So you know I was desperate when I made 2 appointments with Jodi
Sager, a massage therapist here in Beaver Dam. Her Jin Shin Do and hot stone
massage did me a world of good, reducing the pain in my leg for 2 days after
each treatment, but the symptoms quickly returned. Jodi said I had
so many issues going on, that she thought I would be a good candidate for
acupuncture. Her referral to Abundance Acupuncture netted me a free
initial assessment.
That referral turned out to be such a lucky
turning point for me! I had my first acupuncture treatment on August 11, 2008
and am writing this testimonial 4 weeks later, unable to believe that it is 5:30
in the morning and I have awakened refreshed, ready to face the day with energy
to burn. Starting with the first treatment, my fatigue has gradually
lessened, until I now feel 10 years younger. The vertigo disappeared after only
3 treatments and the pain in my thigh after 8. (It also helps that I self
massage a trigger point that made its presence known when I sat in a kiddy quad
chair at my grandson‘s request.) At times, water retention still makes me feel
like a wood tick ready to pop, but that usually happens only if I miss a few
doses of the Six Gentlemen herbals that David recommended, or if I eat salty
restaurant food.
Relatives, friends, and coworkers are
probably sick of hearing about how effective acupuncture is when they ask me how
things are going. Thanks to David Milbradt, his staff, and Jodi for her referral, a
simple response of, “just fine” doesn’t cut it anymore.
PS--Since writing
this a few days ago, I fell of the menopause wagon. Shari Friedrichs warned me
this could happen once my body got back in balance. Anyone who thinks the
effects of acupuncture are "all in your head" needs to explain to me how likely
it is for the ovaries of a 50 year-old crone to start popping off eggs again
after an 18 month break.
