Headaches and Neuropathy

My name is Gretchen.  I came to Abundance Acupuncture in March, 2011 because I was suffering from debilitating nerve pain in my head.  I had this problem for three months and it gave me sharp, shooting, stabbing pains in the back and top of my head.  I also felt severe pressure and pain building up in my head.  I was unable to lie in bed for longer than 30 seconds due to the pain, I couldn’t sleep for longer than two hours at a time, and I felt fatigued, irritable, depressed, and hopeless.

I tried medications including antiseizure medications, narcotics, and other headache medications but they did not relieve the pain. They made me feel sedated and groggy which felt terrible because, even though I was horribly sleep deprived I still couldn’t get a normal night of sleep.

After the first two treatments at Abundance Acupuncture I was very aware that improvement was being made and after six treatments I felt significantly better. At this point in time my condition is 90% better.  I feel like I have control of my life again.  I am able to sleep at night and wake up rested.  I have more energy to enjoy work and life with my family again and I feel happier.

During the treatments I felt relaxed and at peace. I used the time to pray and sing hymns in my head. The clinic is very pleasant and the staff has a wealth of knowledge and professional training which they focus on caring for your individual needs.

I have never experienced this type of nerve pain before but, I would recommend acupuncture to anyone dealing with headaches and nerve pain because of the help I received.  I feel that acupuncture allowed me to regain control of my life and for that I am truly thankful.
